John Varvatos clothing

John Varvatos was born in the United States but his family is from a small village in kefalonia called Poulata. He studied in the US and, after his studies, in 1980, he went on to open his own menswear store. However, his talent in design and fashion was very quickly recognized and only a few years after he joined Polo Ralph Lauren. In 1990, he accepted the position of head of menswear design at Calvin Klein. His greatest accomplishment with the brand was the creation of the legendary boxer briefs that gained popularity in the 90’s due to the advertisements featuring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss. After a brief but successful career as a designer for major designer brands, he decided to create his own label that includes clothes, suits, accessories and perfumes. John Varvatos clothing and John Varvatos shoes style is heavily influenced by the rock n’ roll culture yet, his designs exude a vintage elegance with their fine tailoring and the luxurious materials used to create them. Major music stars, such as Iggy Pop and Alice Cooper, have featured in John Varvatos clothing advertisements and he has come to be one of the most popular designers in the music industry tody. Moreover, in the early 00’s, John Varvatos partnered with the popular sneaker brand Converse to create a line of luxury, leather and canvas sneakers catapulting John Varvatos shoes to fame.
